It's My Berfday!

That's right. On this day some years ago, I entered the never-to-be-the-same world. Exactly how many years ago? Well, I won't say exactly, but here's a hint: Next year at this time, the crystal on my hand is going to start flashing red, and I'll probably meet some crazy fish-freezing robot.

Anyway...

The Conference in Sydney, Cape Breton was a blast, though it was also exhausting. There were a lot of very intelligent people with intriguing ideas; there were also some not-so-intelligent people with less intriguing ideas, but thankfully more of the former, I think. Tom's post-modern narrative was, in particular, quite the hit there (though I think it's odd that so many undergrads there had never heard of the term "metafiction"). I lost $35 at the casino, but I had fun doing it, so that's cool.

On a less cool note, when I got back home, Li'l Bastard's Cage had a Li'l Bastard-sized hole in the top. So here we go again...

I'll post again soon.

I'm Back... Sort of.

Although the high-speed internet I subscribed to doesn't work, my dial-up connection seems to have stabilized, so I'm able to do things like check e-mail regularly and update this blog from home. Of course, I'm going away to an undergrad English conference in Sydney, Cape Breton shortly, so you won't be hearing from me again until I get back, but at that point I'll start playing catch-up with this blog (particularly in terms of Women's Writing II-related material).

See you again soon.
